Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 August 2026
Adagia is an app for quotes and sayings. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read all the way through.
Who is responsible
Ivan Čović, Zagreb, Croatia. For anything about privacy, write to [email protected].
The app works without an account
You can use Adagia as a guest. In that case we never ask for your name or email address, and your favorites, collections and settings stay on your device only.
What we collect
Account data — if you register: your email address, and your name if you enter it or if Apple or Google passes it to us at sign-in. We use it to recognise you and to keep your favorites and collections available across devices.
User identifier — a random string that stands for your account. Guests get an anonymous identifier that stays on the device.
Usage data — which quote was shown, hearted or saved as an image, which topic was opened, and what was searched for. It tells us which quotes are worth keeping. We do not record the contents of your collections or anything else you type, apart from quotes you submit for review.
Purchases — whether the one-time "Remove ads" purchase has been made on your account. Billing itself is handled by the App Store and Google Play; your card details never pass through us and we never see them.
Advertising identifiers — Google AdMob uses your device's advertising identifier and data about the ads shown to you. Under Apple's rules this counts as tracking.
Data that stays on your device — your chosen language, appearance, font, text size, reminder settings, the widget's stock of quotes, and, if you are a guest, your favorites and collections.
Ads and your choice
Adagia is free and shows ads through Google AdMob.
On iPhone and iPad we ask for tracking permission before the first ad, using Apple's own prompt. If you decline — or simply never answer — you get non-personalised ads that are not based on your behaviour in other apps. The app works the same either way.
If you would rather have no ads at all, there is a one-time "Remove ads" purchase. No subscription, nothing to renew.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with data brokers. We use these service providers:
- Supabase — database, sign-in and storage. Your account, favorites and collections live here.
- Google AdMob — serving ads in the app.
- RevenueCat — the record of whether the "Remove ads" purchase was made.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — processing the purchase.
- Amazon SES — sending confirmation and password-reset emails.
- Google Analytics — on the adagia.app website only, and only if you accept cookies.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. When you delete the account, we delete it along with your favorites and collections.
Usage records are kept for at most 24 months, after which they are deleted or permanently anonymised.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, its correction, deletion or transfer, and you may object to processing.
You can delete your account and everything attached to it yourself: in the app under Profile → Account settings → Delete account, or at adagia.app/en/delete-account. For anything else, write to [email protected].
If you believe we are handling your data improperly, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
Adagia is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
Cookies on the website
On your first visit, adagia.app asks whether analytics and advertising cookies may be used. Until you accept, they are not set. You can change your choice by clearing the site's data in your browser.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, this text and the date at the top change with it. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
